NGJ Training is a cost-effective provider of face-to-face Health and Social Care training to Care Providers throughout the North West.

We are passionate about great quality Care and supporting those who deliver it.

Working predominantly with Residential, Nursing Home and Domiciliary Care Providers, our services cover Mandatory training, Induction, the Care Certificate, refresher and other short course training.

NGJ Training was formed out of a belief that great quality Health & Social Care training should be affordable and accessible by everyone - regardless of size and particularly by the smaller Care Provider. We recognise the financial, resource and time demands placed on those managing Care staff and the real need for more cost-effective training solutions.

"I would highly recommend the Moving & Handling course provided by NGJ Training..."

NGJ Training ensures your Care staff learn from our sessions and that Care standards are met. From Induction through to Refresher, we continually evolve our course content to reflect current practice and, by incorporating practical "real-life" examples, we bring training to life! Our Clients are our Partners, and we strive to create lasting relationships where you see the value too.

"An excellent communicator... Learned a lot from it... Brilliant!...
We will certainly use NGJ Training again..."

Affordable face-to-face training Vs out-dated DVDs and unclear over-photocopied workbooks? Training sessions should engage everyone and instil a new-found confidence in your staff. Our belief is that motivated, confident and well-trained staff will underpin your efforts to deliver outstanding Care, every minute of every day, and that's why we're fanatical about positively contributing to the Care services you provide.

Our Values

We're passionate about great quality Care. In all our engagements, we flavour our approach to best support our partners and their ways of working. Whether a smaller Care Home Provider, Domiciliary Care Agency or larger Care Provider, our focus is on you. Three principles shape our attitude to training, drive our thinking and enable our effectiveness. Our sense is to remain:

One size doesn't fit all when it comes to training and it shouldn't have to! Even with the Mandatory subjects, it's likely you'll have a specific need or concern, perhaps requiring some additional focus. For the training to be effective, NGJ Training will listen, provide guidance if required and then agree a training format that works for you and your staff. That could mean training needs to take place of an evening or at a weekend. Fine. We understand that the on-going, daily delivery of Care is your number one priority and that your training provider needs to work with you, as a partner, to identify how best to compliment your schedule and existing ways of working.

NGJ Training recognise that whilst training is a mandatory requirement, it must also represent value for money. Our approach is to be affordable to all Care Providers with our motivation being the clear need for good quality Care. We also recognise that there isn't always a training budget, as such, and that even Mandatory training must be justified and approved by business case. We continually monitor the market to ensure we are fairly priced - not just competitively priced! NGJ Training maintain a simple organisational structure and business model, so our overheads are lower. This enables us to offer very attractive rates for our training services. Additionally, to help you budget, our courses are simply priced with no hidden extras.

Not being part of a larger group means that we can, genuinely, create local partnerships that work. Independence means NGJ Training can offer more flexibility to truly deliver personalised and effective training services without needing to charge a premium. Importantly, our independence affords us the freedom to self-reflect; to evaluate our offering and quickly react to new trends, to your feedback, legislation and other training needs in the Care sector. We very much believe in a "Do with", rather than a "Do to" approach. Our Clients are our Partners.

Drawing from a wealth of knowledge and experience, our Health and Social Care training courses have been created with your compliance needs in mind. It's crucial that your staff are not only trained to an appropriate level for their role but that they are also aware of their legal obligations.

All training is delivered by an experienced, professional & courteous health care trainer:

• AET (PTLLS / Cert Ed.) teacher/trainer qualified and "Train the Trainer" qualified where applicable
• Level 5 Award in Health and Social Care Management accredited
• Member of the Association of Healthcare Trainers
• Qualified First Aid instructor
• Qualified Moving & Handling instructor
• Fully insured, both Public Liability & Professional Indemnity

NGJ Training provides a broad portfolio of Health & Social Care training courses. Covering all aspects of the Induction Standards for the Care Certificate, to the Mandatory subjects, to other Refresher and short-course topics. Our approach means we will often integrate elements from other Care subjects to reinforce learning and to drive home practical thinking and application within the subject being covered. In keeping the discussion true-to-life, our experience shows staff will better relate, engage and meet the specific learning objectives.

Courses detailed here serve as a guide to what NGJ Training can provide though we appreciate you may require specific emphasis on an aspect of a subject. Perhaps you've recently conducted staff appraisals, where a concern was noted, or received comments or recommendations from a recent Local Authority or CQC inspection? We want to ensure real learning takes place and that you see the value from our training. The trainer would review your needs and, if necessary, adapt our course content to meet and exceed the necessary learning outcomes. If you're just too busy, you may prefer to leave it entirely to us. That's fine too. We're happy to deliver the training, assess your staff and feedback our thoughts and any further recommendations.

All training courses are delivered on-site at your premises or at an alternative, suitable venue you may choose to arrange.

Assessment Methods

Our training courses are crafted and delivered to ensure learning takes place. As such, NGJ Training utilise a variety of assessment methods throughout a course as your staff will, inevitably, exhibit differing learning styles. Our methods of assessment typically comprise group discussion, direct questioning, practical exercises, observation and a multiple-choice quiz. We encourage everyone to participate, engage in the discussion and share their experiences.

Training Evidence & Certificates

The documentation NGJ Training provides will clearly evidence your compliance, and on-going commitment to staff training and development, at your next CQC inspection. All course outputs, such as completed workbooks & quiz sheets, etc., are also provided to support your training records. Additionally, a quality Certificate of Achievement is issued, for each individual member of staff completing the training, for the benefit of your files and for the individual's Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

Our Courses

All training is delivered on-site, at your premises. We find this helps to support you and your staff in a several ways, not just by reducing travel costs and time. By working in a familiar environment, there are fewer distractions. Staff will often be more comfortable, focussed and ready to learn. On-site training also helps you to schedule activity around known rotas and shifts, enabling staff to be back on the floor sooner if needed. Where relevant, courses fully comply with the Care Certificate Standards; the depth of content covered can be tailored to suit your needs. For convenience, the bulk of our courses can be completed in either a half or a full day session - subject to the course syllabus. Anticipated course durations are indicated in the individual course detail pages.

Had an inspection and need to fine-tune an aspect of your service? NGJ Training can create a bespoke course to address any key areas you need to target.

Induction Courses

A solid Induction programme promotes staff retention and ensures better Care provision from the outset.

Our Induction Courses are based around the Care Certificate Standards, recognised by the CQC as the benchmark for staff induction and for anyone new to working in Care.

Aimed primarily at the needs of the Domiciliary Care Provider, our Induction Courses are designed to instil competence and confidence. Additional subject areas can be included. Courses comprise a mix of theory, discussion, practical activities and on-going assessment.
